Year of a Commute
2011
Photography
I have been commuting to work for the past year and a half, from New Jersey to NYC. It takes me 2 hours each way to get from door to door. IT REALLY SUCKS!
So to make it a little more bearable I thought I would start a new series to document my journey. I take the train to the city and luckily the ride has some really interesting areas. My absolute favorite part of the ride is right after I leave my station in NJ. The train goes over a small bridge, and the waterfront I can see from the windows is really breath-taking. It's most interesting on rainy, gloomy days and in the summer. Starting late spring through the summer the waterfront becomes a docking port for a bunch of private sailboats, which is really something great to see.
In this series I wanted to express the small joy of seeing this waterfront daily with my horrible, horrible commute.

Just some quiet time spent with the camera in the wilderness.Photography2013 -
A photographic series of flowers and other natural subjects. In this series I wanted to capture a painted almost surreal feeling of each photograph, while maintaining the untouched beauty nature intended.Photography2011 -
Part of my natural photographic series, I found this really beautiful fungus almost hiding in the corner of an open space. In keeping with the series I wanted these to come out as almost surreal and painterly to really show a different side of the subject. I thought the contrast of color and texture of these really made them something special.Photography2011 -
In this photographic series I wanted to capture the subtleties of life at night in the suburbs on a summer night. I especially liked exploring the night sky, with the light trails of the flying planes overhead, something I am quite curious in exploring further.Photography2011
